All are invited to attend the Ride to Change the Future kickoff event and enjoy delicious food from Shout!, chances to win terrific prizes and the opportunity to meet and mingle with Carlos Martinez and other riders and supporters. Guests will receive information on training, diet and clothing for the Ride which happens on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at select fitness centers in Atlanta. Guests can register at the kickoff event or via the web site (www.ovariancycle.org) and can learn about other ways to support the Ovarian Cycle cause, which benefits the Ovarian Cancer Institute in Atlanta and ovarian cancer research.
Those interesting in attending may RSVP by e-mail to anne.ehlers@ovariancyle.org , or by calling 404-271-6787. Rider/participant packages will be available for pick-up at the kickoff event. Shout! is located in Colony Square at 1197 Peachtree Street, Atlanta.
Ovarian Cycle’s Ride to Change the Future event has grown since its 2004 debut, and organizers are pleased to announce that the event is happening in three cities in 2008:
Atlanta—April 26 Birmingham—April 13 Broomfield, CO—April 26
“Collectively, riders in all three Ovarian Cycle cities will complete a six-hour indoor-cycling ‘celebration ride’ to raise money for research to find a reliable screening test for ovarian cancer,” explained Ovarian Cycle founder, Bethany Diamond. “We were incredibly touched by the participation in last year’s Ride, which allowed us to donate $125,000 to vital ovarian cancer research. We are hoping to be able to donate even more this year to the Ovarian Cancer Institute and other organizations dedicated to discovering a reliable early detection tool for ovarian cancer. I lost my best friend to this disease, and I will continue fundraising efforts through Ovarian Cycle until we find that test,” concluded Diamond.
